We are The Crum Family, Cyndi, Howard and our now 21 year old daughter Kristine. We have been raising Akitas for the past 16 years. I saw my first Leonberger in an ad in DOGS USA annual magazine. I fell in love instantly. I did some research and discovered that it is a breed I had to have in my life. I saw my first Leonbergers in person about 2-3 years later at a breeders house here in Ohio. They were even more beautiful in person then in the photos I had seen. I stood there in awe of the Male on the property and a pretty young bitch I would have loved to own also. The puppies, well what can I say it was love at first site, who wouldn't fall in love with wee little Leo babies? I knew then with out a doubt this was the breed for me. Things didn't work out how I wanted, we had a couple of set backs and then due to the failing health of our very special Kumo a male Akita we decided to wait because he needed and deserved a lot of our attention, we decided we would wait until he passed on and we were in no hurry for that to happen but unfortunately it did happen and way to soon. We got out first Leonberger almost six years ago and he is Legend, a wonderful dog who has turned out to be a dream come true.
